Green Adds Free Wi-Fi

When you fly in and out of T.F. Green Airport, it’s not just your air carrier that will keep you connected. Travelers can now take advantage of free Wi-Fi services throughout the airport.

“We are pleased to be able to provide this free service to our loyal customers. In this age of technology, travelers want to be connected to the Internet at all times,” said Kevin Dillon, President & CEO, Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “We feel this is another convenience that makes for smooth traveling at T.F. Green Airport.”

The airport issued a request for proposals in 2010. Advanced Wireless Group, LLC. (AWG) was selected as the vendor and spent countless hours outfitting the airport with the appropriate wireless technology. AWG has a wealth of experience with airport specific marketing.

“The trend continues for airports to provide a free access option for public Wi-Fi service as a passenger amenity” said Scott Phillips, President & CEO of AWG. “Airports are faced with the unique challenge of balancing their need to provide this key passenger service with generating associated revenue to offset the costs. AWG is the industry leader in providing free and hybrid Wi-Fi access in airports to help airports meet that challenge.”

To use this new feature, travelers need to simply log on to their web browser and connect to “AWG-WiFi.” The free wireless service is available after viewing a 30-second advertisement and should work anywhere in the airport terminal.
