Checkpoint Information
T.F. Green Airport and the Transportation Security Administration have
taken significant steps to minimize the amount of time you spend waiting
to go through the passenger screening checkpoint. Typical wait time is
no more than a few minutes. However, during peak travel hours or peak
travel days, lines may be longer than normal. Peak travel hours at T.F.
Green Airport are typically 5am-7am and 4pm-6pm. Peak summer months
may also require additional time to be built into each traveler's
schedule and may also depend on the number of carry-on bags and types of
packed items. Please plan according. Tables and benches are readily
available for passenger convenience while revesting.
Your checkpoint wait time may also depend on the number of carry-ons and types of items packed. Plan accordingly.
Remember to take all items out of your pockets and place them inside
your carry-on. Divest medicines and baby foods separately. All other
liquids, gels and aerosols under 3.4 oz. must follow the established TSA
rules which can be found at
www.tsa.gov.
TSA's Advanced Imaging Technology is now in use at Green
Airport. This state-of-the-art technology adds another level of safety
to the passenger screening process. Travelers may arbitrarily be scanned
through the full-body scanner when passing through the checkpoint. This
process should only take a few minutes. Travelers who elect not the
pass through the scanners may request alternate screening procedures.
Threat Level
All passengers are advised to be aware of the current Department of
Homeland Threat Advisory Level. Increases in this level may dictate
additional security measures to be taken by the airport and your air
carrier and you should allow extra time for these measures to be carried
out.
